What I wish I'd known re: Breastfeeding
There are a million pictures on the web now that tell the same story but this is the one that I found initially (when my first was 2 weeks old or so) that would have changed EVERYTHING for me in those first few days:
I gave birth for the first time in a formula-centric hospital. Nobody pushed it on me, I wasn't worried they were slipping him bottles in the nursery but I did see a lot of bottles of formula and they were HUGE! My concept of how much milk I needed to produce in those first few days became totally skewed and I worried constantly that I wasn't producing enough. If I had been armed with this knowledge from the get-go it would have helped me tremendously. I'm thrilled to see that this imagery seems to be included now in many hospital's lactation curriculum.
